2022 Events
The Surgical Skills Evening was a SOLD OUT event in September 2022.

With sponsorship from the Australian Orthopaedic Association and MDA National we managed to provide students the opportunity to select three hands on rotations including suturing, simulated cyst removal, introduction to theatre, laparoscopy simulation and orthopaedics.

 

The evening started with a pasta dinner, followed by speeches from a consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Mr Li-On Lam and Orthopaedic Trainee Tom Christiner. We heard all about Mr Lam’s humanitarian work in Madagascar and Tom provided insight into the path towards a career in surgery. Participants then split up into their rotation groups and tired their hand at the various activities.
