Surgical Skills Evening
NDASS will be launch its year with a bang on March 8th, with our annual suturing event!
In 2018 this event will be comprised of small group teaching, by some of Perth's finest surgeons. This will give students the best possible opportunity to master this important skill. The night will be divided into basic and advanced suturing workshops. All students who would like to attend the advanced suturing workshop should have completed at least 1 previous suturing workshop.
WHEN: Thursday, 8th March 2018
6:00pm - Light dinner and refreshments
6:45pm - Keynote speaker
7:15pm - Clinical suturing workshop:
Basic suturing skills workshop / Advanced surgical skills workshop
9:00pm - Finish
Basic suturing workshop will include:
Simple interrupted sutures, horizontal mattress sutures, vertical mattress sutures, and subcutaneous sutures
Advance suturing workshop will include:
V-shaped suture, subcuticular suture, subcutaneous suture, local anaesthetic administration and wound debridement.
This event is open to NDASS members only of all skill levels (MED 100 - 400). If you are not already a member, join now while membership is still free.
A link will be provided in the near future for a FREE eLearning package. In order to ensure that you get the most out of the workshops, this MUST be completed prior to the evening.
